I'm converting my planted community tank into an mbuna african cichlid tank. I read about how mbuna and plants don't get along, but I'm not one to heed advice so I just went ahead and added some aragonite sand and some pH 8.2 chemicals and put in the mbuna and removed the other fish to another tank, and started waiting for the plant apocalypse. Sadly, the mbuna haven't torn up any plants yet, and the plants seem to be ok. I was really looking forward to rescuing the plants but they seem to just be doing their plant thing, being green and slowly growing a bit. I have polysperma, bacopa, amazon sword, ludwiga and frogbit. So far everything seems fine.
