I have recently heard that Mbuna Cichlids need a diet with little protien to prevent Malwi Blaot. I was going to feed my elcetric yellows once i got them Veggie flakes, tropical flakes, African cichlid flakes, bloodworms, tubifex worms, shirmp, brine shrmip, shrimp pellets, and algea wafers. Is this bad-I would vary their diet in feeding. IS this okay to do or will it make potential problesm?

TIA

Cut back on the 'meaty' type foods definitely. Anything high (and healthy) in vegetable content is going to satisfy them more. Algae Wafers are a must. I've been feeding mine cichlid excel for over a year and they love it.

Thanks everyone I will use The Meaty Foods as treats like every Sunday and feed the veggie flakes and algea wafers every day.
