Hey guys, friend gave a 50 gal tank and I was wondering what cichlids you would suggest for a 50?

Blue Acara
Keyhole
Firemouth
Convict
T Bar (Sajica)
Rainbow
Angelfiah
Festivum

And smaller ones like
Rams
Bolivian Rams
Laetacara types
Cockatoo dwarf

The list goes on...

Petsmart has a top fin 50 gallon that 48x12x19. Never seen it any where else.

Sorry should have specified that's the Aqueon 50 gallon.

Also I thought that tank is what they call their 45 long? Those measurements actually work out to 47 gallons.

Yea IDK I have only seen it at the closes pet smart by me. They also have the 36x18 50 gallon there.

My "Elite" glass 55g is 49x13x18. I was surprised by it's odd dimensions as well. Most 55s are 48x12x21. I didn't mind it though, I'll take the extra inch in depth over 3 inches in height that won't be used as often anyway.

50 breeder will kind of limit you, but a 50g that is 4' will open up a lot of your options. Either way, a pair of 4-7" cichlids or a single 8-10" fish would be good in there.
