Stocking a tank

I have an 83 litre tank currently with 4 African cichlids. One of my cichlids are now pregnant and this is the first time I have had a pregnant fish and I have bought a breeding cage which can hang on the side of my tank. How big are the fry when they first come out? How big do they have to be until I can let them back in the tank with the other fish? And would I be able to leave them all in there until I find a place for them elsewhere? If so how long could I leave them in there?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a 20 g tank a little small for African cichlids? What species are they?

Ok, that's interesting because my local fish shop person told me I needed 6 of them, I am also not sure of what species because on the tag it only said cichlids but the guy selling them to me kept on going on about African cichlids so I assumed they were african cichlids

If you got the fish at an lfs then more than likely the tank size won't be big enough for them. Can you show a picture so we can see what ones you got?

are the rest peacocks? if so they get to be 6 inches...

if he's a c moorii they get 8 to 10 in. looks like one to me, but I could be wrong... sorry seems like you got really bad advice, happens at lfs
