The colors in angelfish

I bought five quarter-sized angelfish yesterday at my LFS's Black Friday Sale (25% off!). I seems that several of them are showing strong black striping now that didn't in the store. Do these colors coming out mean they are less stressed than they were in the store... Or perhaps MORE stressed?

They're in a 29 gal. planted tank with seven male Endlers. I should think they'd like it. Perhaps too soon?

Definitely less stressed. From personal experience, my striped angelfish's stripes fade when he's stressed.

Btw they will probably eat the endlers as soon as they get bigger, I'd move them sooner rather than later!

Lighting also plays a part in Angelfish coloration. If their lights were brighter than yours, that also could be why they weren't showing stripes. You can read about it here: TAS Library - Dr Norton Article: Continuous Light Affects on Patterns
