I have two holding fish. 1 is a 2 inch yellow lab and the other is a 2.5 inch Aulonocara sp. 'Stuartgranti Maleri' Maleri Island. the yellow lab has fry while the other has only eggs. I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 fry from another pair( not sure what they are) they are about .5 inches. Would it be ok to put both mothers in the 10 or should i leave them in the 125 with the others...

thanks

When they are closer to spitting you can put them in the 10 gal and remove them right away. If the stuartgranti has only eggs it will be anywhere from 2-4 weeks before she is ready to spit. My yellows spit around 4 weeks consistently. A 10 gal is too small for them to be comfortable in for any length of time, esp when used to a 125 gal. But when they are closer to spitting it would be fine for a shorter period of time.
