Better Lights?

Hi,

I have a standard fluro 3 foot light fixture with 2 x 30w lights (actinic and white). I know that's not a lot of light for a 3 foot aquarium (45G).

Are there any other lights I can get to insert into that sort of fixture which give a greater amount of wattage? I have no room to add a third light because of the aquarium hood, plus I am unable to find a single tube 3 foot light fixture which has an external balist.

Any help would be great.

the internal ballast will only handle 30w bulbs. To get more light you will have to change the fixture or get a retrofit kit that will fit into your existing fixture. Your best bet would be to get a 30" pc fixture Or a vho set. Pc prices are coming down so if you keep an eye on ebay you might be able to get a good deal. I got a 24" jebo pc with 130 watts for about 50 on ebay.
