drilling a tank...

I need to know what the best way is, to go about drilling a one inch hole in the side of my tank. I want to put the hole as close to the top as possible. The sides are not tempered so I know it can be done I am just wondering if its something i can do myself. TIA

I would not do it yourself unless you are very familiar with doing this. The drill bits are very expensive and you must be VERY careful when doing so. I'd check around at some glass cutting shops or LFS's and see if they can do it for you.
