Help With Hermit Predicament

So um... this is going to sound insane but I ONLY have 3 hermits. FORSURE 3 hermits... So i just went and found a dead hermits body ripped from its shell on some lr. I pulled it out and flushed it... BUT, i still have 3 hermits alive.. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS ? someone help haha! So weird, theres only been three and always has been three and ive never seen a fourth .

It was probably a molting I thought it was a dead hermit the first time I saw this happen

Well it was just weird that all three were moving and there was this one, definitely dead hermit and had flesh and everything sticking on it. so weird.

No, my fish will usually eat my cleaners molt before I get to it but taking it out is fine
