hob fuge question????

Hey guys and gals. ok i'm stting up my hob fuge in the next few days and i don't have any sand for it. can it wait for the sand for a little while? I have some chaeto on the way that i bought from ducky. or should i put a little cc in the bottom for a temp solution. any help would be great thanks
