Is varathane safe?

I have a can of varathane wood finish made by flecto to waterproof my canopy. Is this safe to use?

It it water based form ? If so - yes I would think it is safe.

Do it away from the tank obviously, and let it "cure" until the smell is gone AWAY from the tank.
