Little green things sprouting... algae? (photo)

Any idea what I'm seeing here? I'd expect to see this in a garden more than growing on my LR. Is it the start of some sort of algae or something else?

Thanks!

Looks like the starts of halmedia. A macro algae. Not a bad thing to have.

Sweet. Any way I can cultivate it? Are my Scopas Tang or my Double Saddle Butterfly likely to mow it down before it gets anywhere?

Thanks!

It's pretty tough as far as macros go so your fish probably aren't going to mess with it much. It's a slow grower and is dependant on the calcium in your water. I don't know how to cultivate it. Sorry.
