I plan to change all my powerheads due to a recent "almost fatal" encounter of my juv emperor and one of my maxijet 1200's.

I am planning to set up a weird closed loop with a mag36, it iwll consist in two 1" standpipes joined together in the input of the pump and for the return two scwd (one each side of tank)

what do you think?
too crazy?
too dangerous?
my tank has 2 X 1" drains and my sump is pumping up with a RIO3100,

Are you using the little slotted baffle on the intake of MJ?

I've never had an incident because of them.

Yes, I used it, seems weird to me too, but it just happened. What do you think of my plan?

Sounds liek it should work but I'm no expert onteh plumbing side.

If your using water from drain standpipes its really not a close loop. You will end up getting bubbles from the drain line and they will get pushed through the pump.
