Slate ok in salt?

I've used slate in my FW tanks, but would there be any reason not to use it in a SW? I just was thinking of using a few small pieces to make some shelves in the LR.

As long as you clean it really good it will be fine. I have used some in my tanks for basically the same purpose and they are growing mini dusters and coraline all over them.
