Snails

My Astraea snails are staying at the top of the tank at the water edge. I have had them for 4 days and they have been there almost the entire time. Why? Is there something I need to do (I'm pretty new at this).

That's probably the part of the tank you''re unable to clean with the mag float. If that's the case then it's not un-usual.
