Hey guys,

Just got my RO/DI unit hooked up and was wondering what kind of TDS readings everyone gets?

Tested my city water and was getting 180+ and after the process i am down to 10-12. I have seen a couple of commercials for local water companies saying "there" water had a TDS of 9. So i figure i am not that far off.

Thanks
SJS

Your RO/DI will take a little while to "break in" usually, but you should get all the way down to 0. For a true reading pour fresh RO/DI into a glass and test it immediately. Plastic has a tendancy to raise that number a little as will letting it sit out and get dust in it.

I figured that is the case, i think its something about the bacteria in the RO membrane.....Am i right??

Anythign below 10 is pretty good. As mentioned, once you have filtered a few gals of water I suspect your number will decrease.

I thought it was from the carbon, but I could be wrong.
