Lake Superior gravel

Anyone know if gravel off a beach on the N. shore of Lake Superior is ok to use in planted tropical fish aquarium? Any reason not to? Thanks

Since I live on the south shore... I"d say its fine as long as you use a bleach wash or something... rock type might matter. I put about 300 agates in my 20 long, 3 years no issues.

I have some Lake Michigan rocks from the Wisconsin side of the UP in mine! I just boiled them for about 30 minutes. No ill effects. In fact, they look awesome, and I'm considering doing buckets of them for my 55g.
