So as some of you know, I was planning on a 29 gallon aquarium. The reason I wasn't getting up to 50 was due to my space requirement of no bigger than 36 in. Well I was browsing my local craigslist adds and found a 50 gallon oceanic with lights, filter, heater, and all, including sump and skimmed, for $200. Now I was planning on getting my tank and stand for over that, so this really appealed to me!! The tank is 30 long, 18 deep, and I believe 22 tall! So I agreed on my 29 gallon stock as
1 apisto
1 German blue ram
1 opaline or honey gourami
6 cherry barbs
6 harqualin rasboras
3 otos
4 Julii Cory's.
(1 rainbow shark or pictus catfish)
(1 angelfish)
(1 clown pleco)
(1 swordtail)
The paranthesis are what I would like to add in a 50. How much would that leave me with as for room, or how does it sound?

From that list I think you need to minus the rainbow shark and maybe an angelfish. Then you'll be fine you could boost up the cories.

Why no shark? I thought they'd be ok in this tank! What about a raph or pictus catfish???
