55 Gallon Stocking Suggestions

Next summer, I plan on buying a 55 gallon tank (yes, I know that is a long way away, I just like to plan ahead to know how to set it up) and I was wondering what you suggest putting in it. I have NO clue as to what I should put in it as I am used to small fish. I was thinking an oscar or bala shark but that is the end of the list. Thanks! By the way, NO SALTWATER FISH!!!!! I do not have the time to take care of a saltwater tank. Thanks!

Both an oscar and a bala would grow too large for the tank's size. You don't want smaller fish, right?

In a 55 gallon, your options for bigger fish are still limited. I think you could have angelfish in there.

Angel fish, parrot cichlids, I do believe firemouths could go in there, and a bunch of the south/central America cichlids could go in there. They're all decently sized!
