So I had a Bristlenose Pleco die on me within 16 hours of release into my tank.
My parameters
N03 <20ppm
N02 0ppm
GH ~150
KH ~80
PH ~7
ammo 0
Temp 76
I tested the water in the store bag and it was roughly the same except the kH was off the charts high. I figured I would acclimatize very slowly to compensate. I let the bag float for 20minutes to adjust the temperature then I went on to add 1/2 cup of tank water every 15 minutes for an hour and a half (6 times). Then added a full cup every 15 minutes for half hour (twice). I netted him out of the bag and released him into a cup of tank water and then put the cup in the tank. He swam off fine and I found him dead in the morning.
Any ideas on what killed him? I don't have the luxury of a quarantine tank at the moment.
