This is sprouting out of the knots and branch stubs of my dw, looks pretty cool actually but is it bad?

This looks like beard algae.
It's not bad for fish, but it is capable of starving plants of light if the algae covers the plant. (and it will)

Yup, I'm referring to the little sprouts, not the actually bba strands, I'm still killing off the last if a bba outbreak..
