I have searched for a thread to answer my question, but cannot find one. Please forgive me if this is a question that has already been answered.

I have little clumps of black (or dark grey) algae growing all over the tank. It started on my plants and has moved to filter intakes, heaters, etc. They do not detach easily. They are more hairy than slimy and grow in little clumps (just a little bit smaller than dime-sized).

I am really worried this will affect my new Angels and want to get this taken care of ASAP. Your help is GREATLY appreciated.

Black bushy algae thrives in tanks low in CO2. You can use seachem excel even if your tank isn't planted.
