I found an old blacklight strip and have been putting in over my nano 2.5 the past few nights. Is this ok? Anyone have any experience with adverse affects?

Heard some say it made the water look cloudy in the tank . Thats the only thing I heard about them. How does it light the fish - as colour enhancement.

I had 2 small Cold Cathode Black lights at the top of my 44 gallon (taken from my old computer) All it did was make the water cloudy. A slightly green tinge to it. I was really hoping that some fish (at least the clown loaches and neons) woud glow. No such luck. I canned the setup a few weeks later.

Ah ok cool, I can handle the cloudy water. As far as effects go, I think it looks great, the black backround changes green. My light green/white fake sword plant glows purple and the tubing lights up as well.

I wish my camera worked id take a few pics.
