Can goldfish rest?

My Ryukin Junior recently likes to sit on the bottom of the tank he stills swims about every once in a while like during feeding time and sometimes randomly. Im just wondering if there is a problem here or he just likes to relax?

Sitting on the bottom occasionally is fine IME but not too often. I would check the tanks parameters. What size tank and how many fish do you have? What do you feed? What your water change schedule?

55 gallon( 75 soon), 5 3" fancies, water peremeters are fine, 50% a week,feed every night exept saturdays and feed my lfs special goldfish food that they make.

Fancies tend to do that off and on but never too long but reg goldies/comets usually always zip about. I've notice since my 7 fancies have gotten so large they rest more often than when they were young and much smaller/less body girth.
