The floor is totally even. The tank will be level but I would like to do cichlids and I've been reading everything I can about setting up for them. I want to put eggcrate on the bottom of the tank before I put in the rock and then sand. I have read about using styrofoam and I think its a great idea but I have a couple question that I couldn't find clarity about in other posts.
Should the styrofoam fit just under the glass or should it cover the entire bottom of the tank (sticking out from all edges an inch or so)?
What thickness should I use for a 45 gallon tank?
