comets passing air through gills? NORMAL?

hello.

today i observed my two comets eating and saw that when they got floating pellets from the surface they dive in the water and air pass through their gills.

is that normal?

does that represend any kind of risk or something like that?

no this is normal, they just expel it through their gills

no harm or a problem, i've seen most of my fish do this before
