Pretty much in the title, "Eco complete vs, fluorite subtract. Is one better for a planted tank or does it all come down to a preference?

They are pretty close to the same thing. Fluorite needs to be rinsed a lot before use while Eco complete can be poured directly from the bag with no rinsing required. Call me lazy but I'll take the ease of Eco complete unless the price difference is very drastic.

Someone told me about activ flora it's supposed to be even better than the two others? Have any experience with this brand?

I think it just comes down to preference. I don't think I've heard of anyone being too displeased with either product. I prefer eco-complete because (as azmodan said) you don't have to wash it before you put it in your tank, it comes in larger bags, and it's cheaper on amazon.
