Filter suggestions

I am upsizing my planted 55 to a 75 gallon. I currently run two AquaClears (a 70 and a 20) which gives me great filtration and water movement. I love how efficient these are--I keep them packed with media. My only complaint is how much room they take up on the back of the tank. Since the 75 is going to take up more front-to-back floor space, I am hoping to slim up the filter area. I also don't want an internal filter taking up inside space. Other than reusing the 70 and getting another larger one, any suggestions?

If you want something that takes up less space behind the tank a canister would work well.

Thanks. I've never used one of those before. I assume there is a pump of some sort? I will be having two tanks (either two 75s or a 75 on top and a 55 on bottom) on a sturdy rack, rather than a cabinet, so there wouldn't be a place to hide a canister. I will do some research on those.
