Gobies?

When i went to the petstore a little while aga to look at more puffers, i saw a goby i wasn't familiar with. It was a brackish water goby . They labeled it at a neon goby it was grey and had a bunch of little purpleish dots running along it's side. Anyone have any info on them?

The only brackish goby that I can think of that is spotted, is the knight goby, also known as the fan dance goby. I'm sure there are more.(Stigmatogobius sadanunidio)

Nope it didn't look anything like that. It only had one row of spots along it's side.

I don't see anything on here like you are describing but maybe a google of some of the families will get you some results. Sorry I can't help more.

a bumble bee goby maybe?

I said it was long and grey and had a single row of purple dots on it's side. No it wasn't a bumble bee goby i have 2 of them so i know what they look like .

It wasn't that either, i also have one of those, look here it looks like the one where it says "red striped goby with 4 other speicies" in the pics, it looks like the one in the upper left hand corner but the one i saw had one row of little purple dots along it's side.http://www.aqualandpetsplus.com/Oddball, Other Gobies.htm

It didn't look anything like that. Maybe they mislabeled it. I wonder what kind of goby it was. Did you check out the pic in that link?

the only thing i can think of is a sleeper goby.....your best bet would just to search around on the net.

I've looked around the net and couldnt find anything that resembles it except for that one pic in the link i posted.
