It got worse than this before I got rid of it, but this is green water:

Dag, fishy, you were too quick! I chose wrong attachment first time!

Wasn't fun, but it was a new setup, and I was leaving the lights on WAY too long each day. Put the tank in total darkness for 5 days, (covered w/blanket), and it was gone. Now have 10 hours of lite per day, no problem with green water. WOOO HOOO!!

Look upon it as a beneficial experience, rather than a mistake.

Spot On, Grant! That's what this hobby is all about sometimes. I have a ton of experience, but the planted tank w/intense light, Co2, special gravel, that's all new to me. I'm learning more all the time. Learning more than i ever wanted to know about algae, that's for sure!

I can vouch for that, when I started the hobby a few months back, my objective was to just keep my 11.1gallon nicely flowing and a good selection of fish. 6 / 7 weeks down the line however, I'm now picking up a 45gallon and will be quarantining and breeding in the second tank !!

I think the moment you keep fish, thats it. If all goes well, you're pretty much hooked !

Grant.
