Just a quick question. I havn't kpet any type of tetra for a long time now and i am wondering if head and tail lights will school more closely if there are more of them. I bought 5 of them last night and i think i want to get another 5, that is if it will make them school more closely.

Beacon tetras dont school as much as other tetras do. I also noticed that in smaller groups they become rather nippy towards each other, never to other fish just their own kind. Mine will sit around each other but they hardly ever school, even when i had a larger population of them.

I have 8 and they aren't very good schoolers. They will swim together, but not too tightly. They will probably be happier with more, but it won't make them school more IME.

Mine are also like this...but only towards their own kind. :)
