heater too big?

can i have too many watts for my tank? i've only got a 10 gallon tank but was given a 150watt heater. would that not be ok to put it in there?

IMO you can go bigger than you need but I would never go smaller, your electric bill will show that... The extra wattage means it wont have to work as hard to keep up the heat in the tank. I have a 300 watt in my 55 and a 200 in my 30.
