HOB Filter that sticks out the least?

I have an Aqueon 36 gallon bowfront tank that I just had to replace the top / hood for. I purchased a Versa-Top Hinged Glass Top to replace the old hood, but came up against a problem. The Aqueon Quiet Flow 30 Power Filter sticks out too far for the glass top to be able to sit all the way down...

So here's my question: Does anyone have any ideas which HOB filter protrudes the least into the tank? The Aqueon Quiet Flow 30 protrudes 2 inches into the tank....

I know that I can go to my local pet store and make some measurements, but I figured that I would ask here before packing up my tape measure and opening up some boxes....

I think that you are going to be stuck with the tape measure plan. I can say that I have used several different models from different companies and about two inches seems to be the norm. You are probably only going to find very small differences in sizes. Good luck.
