Just found out this piece of wood is from a Lilac tree has been dried out over 25 years. I soak it for a week then pressure washed it and ran it through the dishwasher 3 times. It's good and doesn't float anymore. Am I good to go?

Is there anyway to test this someone to see if fish/plants would be ok? I really like this piece it's still soaking doesn't float anymore and doesn't release much tan anymore. If I can't use or should use I think I'm scrapping the whole DW idea everywhere is too expensive !

Another reason is you put it in the dishwasher so it will have residues of soap and other stuff on it.

Lots of people run driftwood through a dishwasher. Just without using soap.

Personally, I think after 25 years and boiling it it would be safe. But that's just my opinion. ;-)
