As my tank is now cycled, I figured it was time to add some new additions. This morning I picked up a pair of little Cory cats. So far they're getting along well with the Cherry Barbs. I picked up some wafers for them, as my tank isn't all that cruddy and my other fish are big pigs. Don't let any food get to the gravel. How often do I need to add the wafers? I just gave them one tonight and my barbs acted like I was feeding them steak.

Another quick question. I currently have the 4 cherry barbs and 2 cory cats. I'm assuming my bio-load is pretty full now for a 10 gal tank. Would it be kosher to add maybe 2 more cherries in the next 4 weeks or so?

I think two more cherry barbs would be fine. Cherries grow to around 1.5 inches and cory cats get to about 2 inches, so if you added 2 more cherries you would be around 13inches/gallon. As long as you keep the water conditions healthy, I dont see a problem.

I'd say go ahead and add 2 more cherry barbs. They should be fine. As for the algae wafers if they are large only give them 1 every 2-3 days as they will always find some food that falls to the ground from feeding you barbs.
