Hey all, thanks for reading.

I recently took in one of my close friends old fish tanks. It came with a box of filter carbon. It may be as old as 20 years. 1994-2003 is when they really had the tank set up.

Is the carbon okay to use for filtration since it has never been used before? Thanks.

Was the packet kept in a sealed plastic or sealed container? If so, it's plenty good to use. Of not, it may have absorbed from the air and become inert after twenty years. Couldn't hurt either way.
