yes, certain medication is bad for sensitive fish, such as loaches since they don't have scales. salt and heat is the natural combination for disease treating. you can always goto a grocery store and get norton salt, or salt with only NaCl and nothing else, to save some money. Aquarium salt sold at pet stores is usually overpriced IMO

Ok. So if this isn't ich. Which I've had the feeling from the start that it isn't, what would it be? And salt and heat would help it also? Sounds like it helps anything from what y'all have been Saying.

I've treated a few things with salt and heat or lower heat. If you have doubts on ich I would seriously try and get some better pics and post them. Again sorry I just skimmed through your post.

Are the fish eating?
Acting normal?
Swimming around?
No clamped fins?
Open sores?
White mouth or cotton mouth?
Do they look like they've been sprinkled with salt or powdered sugar?

Look through my threads for the ich one I have pics of my fish with ich, those are bad pictures and a bad case of ich and I beat it.

Just be sure as some parasites and bacteria need lower heat like columnaris as an example which I also dealt with.

I will try to get some better pics. This Morning An last night are the ones I have posted. Last nights are better. This morning it was darting around like crazy so I couldn't get a good one.
Yes they are eating good.
Yes the yellow one looks like ich but is In a straight line only on the tail.
The orange swordtail has more like splotches hat are very white. Not clear like ich which looks like salt or sugar crystals. They are all over he body and the ones on fin and eyes are hanging and look like they are barely hanging on and do have a fuzzy look to them. Some spots look like ich on the body but then on the tail they are splotches

When you say hanging do you mean like a worm?? Could it be an eternal parasite of some sort?

Nope. Doesn't look like a worm. Looks like a little whit fuzzy ball just hanging on. Then the tail just has white splotches that look nothing like what's hanging. My luck it probably has three different diseases. Lol.

little white fuzzy ball sounds like a fungal infection to me...but ive never dealt with that so hopefully someone has advice for you.

Depending on what kind of splotches u see on the tail, it could be the same or maybe a starting of fin rot? Do the fins look ragged or like they are fraying?

wow, tough luck right there. depending on how much you love the fish, the medication for what you described would cost you north of the price of the fish. but with that said, i would recommend coupling the all-in-one treatment kit and the salt option

No to the fin rot. I have dealt with that on my other fish and doesn't look anything like they. They are in great condition. Fungal infection sounds like the hanging part. Maybe the tail part is ich and it just looks different. I'm sure I'm driving y'all crazy on this post but I am at such a loss for words with all these issues lol

That's what I would do... Are they all showing? Of not try and take the ones out that are showing.

Don't have another tank but I was considering putting him in something with the aerator. But, when i turn the heat up for the others im afraid there won't be enough oxygen with just the filter.

This is really the best I can do. The yellow one is being more still but it is the one that looks like normal ich. Except notice the straight line and no other place on the body...

The orange one. The last one of it. Is probably the best pic. You notice the splotches on tail and the fuzzy lookin hang on the fin.
