Im thinking of doing my fish room bigger as in 16x24

Right now its half that size and Im running 1" pvc and a alita ap-100 air pump.

If I open the room up and go the full 16x24, I would invest a blower for the air system.

My question is right now I have 1" pvc on the fish room side, if I was to upgrade to a blower for the bigger room, could I use the existing 1" pipe and then connect that to 1-1/2" or 2" pvc for the other half of the room?

So it would still be a closed loop system just half would be 1" and the other half would be either 1-1/2" or 2"

Would that work?

Any input would be great

Whenever you increase volume you decrease pressure. Dunno how many tanks youre gonna have or how strong of a pump but keeping it 1" piping would be best.

You might be able to have 1 1/12 piping from the pump them reduce it to 1" towards the outflow as that will build pressure but fact still remain

it would be most likely a 1/2hp blower and I know with blowers they suggest 1-1/2 or 2" pipe
