The rule of thumb is one goldfish per 20 g , then 10 gallons for each additional goldfish. You'd be able to keep two MAX

thanks. my friends currently have 3 gold fish in their 29 gal tank. i have 2 black moors in a 10 gal tank and am looking to rehome them, as they are *obviously* in a tank that is too small for them and i cant afford a bigger tank

If you have the room for another tank, try Craigslist. Theres great deals but you have to be quick to get them. Petco is also having their $1/g sale right now. My two largest moors have a 55g to themselves for the winter to give you an idea of how big they can grow. Not sure what I'm going to do next winter yet because they will likely need something larger.
