right substrate?

i am about to set up my third shrimp tank and i want to use something different than anything i have now. i wanted to use something like sand and i found a some sand that is black and white and i was wondering if the regular white or black sand would be ok for neocaridina shrimps? i will post the product name and pic if i can
 
well i couldnt find the name but they sell it at petland discounts if any of guys went there you can probably name it

You can use whatever substrate you want. As long as it doesn't effect pH
