royal pleco help

I just bought royal pleco all my live my live plants and driftwood have algae on it but its been pretty hard to feed him because when I drop algae wafers in the tank my oscar eats them up. Will the driftwood, plant algae and left over food on the bottom be okay for him? Or do they sell flakes for royal plecos??

Just feed them a couple hours after lights out or early in the morning before the tank lights come on, this allow the plecs to forage uninterrupted while the big fish are in sleep mode. I'd use some large 10mm h2O wafer from NLS since they don't dissolve quickly, this will give the plecs time to find and feast.
