Snail escape artist

I have had a lovely snail for two months now. He doesn't like either one of my tanks and has escaped 5 times. Any idea on what I can do to get him to stay?View attachment 294121

I have had a lovely snail for two months now. He doesn't like either one of my tanks and has escaped 5 times. Any idea on what I can do to get him to stay?
I've had him alone with my Berra and in my community tanks. Temp is 78/79 degrees.

I keep tops on all of my tanks to keep snails and shrimp inside.

Some crawl out for various reasons, including looking for food or places to breed. Nerites are known for this.

We have a nerite who just refuses to be in water. We don't keep lids on the tanks, but she just hangs around on the outside of the tank. Snails are funny.
