Well after reading alot on here and making a few mistakes along the way and taking back the cichlids that my wife bought after they started fighting. I have straightened out the water parameters and i am thinking about going with:

6-8 Harliq. Rasboras
4-5 Giant Danios
2- Flame Dwarf Gourami
4- otos

in 36 gal. would that be an ok Combo?

You could boost up the harlequins by another two and add some Cories for the bottom. Just make sure you get 1m 2f with the Gouramis as males fight.
