Switching filters

I just got in a new, larger filter for my tank. I can't really run both at the same time, so can I just transfer the media bag from one filter to the other and be done with it? They're both tetra whisper power filters and take the same size cartridge so it shouldn't be an issue moving it. Anything else I should do to ensure a smooth transition.

You should be perfectly fine just transferring the media like that.
