1. Can I use vinegar if I rinse it off well to remove the salts (or whatever the white stuff is on my filters and tank covers)?
2. Those small terra cotta pots I see overturned In people's tanks' I assume they'd hiding places/caves for the occupants. Can I use any new pots from Home Depot or Lowes or similar store? Do they need prepping in any way? I think they are lovely when paired with plants I front and around them and would be an attractive and inexpensive way to decorate my tanks.
