I too have had the problem of a crooked water line
Me too.....about 1/4" over the 4 ft of my 55....drives me crazy, but that's just the way the floor is....one of the peculiarities of living in the basement.

I usually try to keep mine above the trim so i can't see the water, but my 2 96 watt bulbs and no cover glass do a pretty good job of lowering the water by about a 1/2 gallon a day. I have a friend who keeps his cichlid tank about 2-3 inches below the top and the waterfall noise drives me bananas whenever I am at his house.

I used to keep it low because i had oscars and they like to make a mess! Not too mention when thay hit the lids for a fly or somthing. I guess its habbit now and all my tanks are big enough that that little bit of water doesnt make much diff to stability.

Yay i started a topic that is now 2 pages long, i feel special LOL, its amazing what boredom can do, perhaps il think of another random topic to start sometime LOL.
