Which fish has the best personality?

Hello! I have a 29 gallon and I am looking for a single freshwater fish to keep in there that has a lot of personality.

I know it can depend from fish to fish, but I want to know your own experiences!

Betta or pea puffs.

You only want 1 fish no tankmates right?
I've kept both male and female bettas and I find the females have a better personality. Like tmaier said pea puffers too but they are small.
Female mollies are also friendly and they get bigger than a betta at 3-4"
A gourami would work as well
A (female) convict
or
rainbow
or
keyhole cichlid

I’m thinking some sort of cichlid that won’t over grow the size of your tank.

With the exception of a betta, fish do much better in pairs or groups. One single fish is not going to be very content and will show off more personality if others of its kind are present.
