Does anyone know what triggers marble crayfish to reproduce? Mine get plenty of good food have a lot of hides and no aggressive fish.

In my fishroom, when one berrys up they all do and then after the babies hatch nothing for really long periods of time. Any ideas?

So far as I know, they only have a couple of broods a year, but they can have quite large broods. Numbers usually increase as they age, and they live around 3 years or so. Make sure the water is hard and alkaline for them, they need the calcium to moult. They're all females.. they don't need to mate to have babies. Parthenogenesis.. all female, all the time.

Thanks for the info. Very strange that they all go at once than nothing.
