Red cherry shrimp and filters

Do red cherry shrimp get sucked into filters often? I cant seem to find any of them I put into my 5 gallon a couple of weeks ago.

They can; depends on the filter. Same thing happened with some RCS and a SunSun canister. When I cleaned the filter I found them. Returned them to the shrimp tank (the HOB filter has a foam prefilter).

Ahh i see :/. Are there any disadvantages to a foam prefilter?

They get clogged eventually. If my filter flow slows down. I turn filter off and rinse my foam and then put it back. Kept my Shrimp safe and they loved grazing on the foam for tidbits.
