I have been reading a bit about spirulina to fish and shrimp

Now a I take it myself as a supplement in a power form

I was wondering would this be ok to feed fish and if so how much and often

And does it not color the water pretty badly.

Any tips would be great

I use the powder form to add into BlackBerry smoothies:)
Im sure it would be fine for your shrimp or any animals you might be caring for.
In a powdered state it would probably need to be mixed in a gel mold then frozen.
Algae wafers would be easier and shrimp love them.

It's wonderful added to prepared foods, either a gel type, or home made and air dried. But it's hard to feed the powdered form to most fish. Very small fry will take it as is, and so will filter feeding creatures, like Fan shrimp or clams.

I find it's easiest to feed to such animals by mixing it with water first. I put a teaspoon of it in jar, put the lid on tightly and shake hard. The resulting green tinted water is poured into the tank for filter feeders to sift out. If you overfeed it, it will take some time for the water to clear up, but it will eventually.
